Qu'est-ce que Hell?

Journal Entry: Thu Sep 10, 2009, 6:54 PM

Two deviations in one day and now a new journal? I think the world might just come to an end.

So! What has the Chi gotten into since her last couple journals?

Mischief, of course. Lots of mischief.

I've also had the wonderful experience of making one of those huge decisions where you spend months wondering which answer/path is the right one. However, now that I've made it, it's amazing how much relief you feel. Like a ton of bricks has miraculously disappeared off not only my mind, but my heart as well. I just keep telling myself that there was no right or wrong path out of my two decisions; they were simply different.

Speaking of getting weights off one's chest/heart/mind, I am also learning the meaning of second chances. Not only to be the one giving them, but the one receiving a second chance as well. I don't know if you ever read this Mathieu, but I do look forward to being friends again. Life's too short to hold grudges.

On a rather unrelated yet also happy note: I've discovered the wonderful Vietnamese food known as Phở (wiki!). It's amazing, and I've since been hooked on it.

But other than that, I can't think of much else to say. So many things have happened over the past month and a bit (my ankle is still swollen and sore would you believe, and it's been 3 months since I've sprained it), but to go into that would make this journal 910837491834 times longer, and I simply don't want to write that much lol.

Take care, you hooligans, and thanks for reading! (and correcting my stupid french mistake)

Help! // My Newest Brainchild...

[Help!]

is selling the original of her latest work Poseur de Chaise on FurBuy: [link]

This is in order to raise funds for rent as she is moving to a new abode in little under 2 weeks. Even if you aren't interested in buying or are low on funds, it would be greatly appreciated if the word was spread.

[My Newest Brainchild]

After such a long period of time where I haven't drawn anything, I must say it's a rather nice feeling to be hit by a freight-train of inspiration. Once more sketches have been completed you'll start seeing the makings of what I am possibly considering making into my own book or even graphic novel. This is merely a little note in forewarning because I just can't keep the idea contained, (as many people on my MSN contact list have had the misfortune of finding out as I constantly pester them about it).

A new journal skin is on the way, just got to tweak some things.

I've also stumbled across a song that's quickly becoming one of my favourites: 'Cherry Blossom' by Kiyoshi Yoshida

From Mach 3 to a Snail's Pace

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 8, 2009, 12:50 PM

It's strange to look back at the last four weeks, which ironically seems as though it lasted for far longer, and realize how intense things really were.

Not a week ago, we were all over the place doing everything, and then I had to go and sprain my ankle rather badly. Next thing I know I'm out of training because I could not miss any classes and I had a lovely pair of 'gimp-sticks' (crutches) that the base hospital had given me.

Needless to say, it kind of puts a cramp in things.

So I went from mach 3, inspections, PT, and timings galore... to actually being forced to sit in a room and do NOTHING for about a week.

Never quite realized before how forcing one to do nothing is quite a psychological weapon. But I suppose I had my choice of things to do: I could stay in one room and play 'Risk' all day, or watch the same movies over and over again in the other room.

... I'm so glad to be out of there.

However! Now that I have been transferred back to my (half) home unit, I am free to basically do what I wish throughout the day, and this means good things to those I owe commissions to and all that unfinished art I have otherwise begging to be completed.

So! Although this journal is ridiculously short in regards to all I've done in the past... 6 or so months, it will have to do for now I think.

Over and Out :3
- Chi

P.S: Testin' out this nifty journal skin thinger. Will probably make my own later but I'm tired of the same bland thing.

Back from the Crypt...

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 26, 2009, 1:13 PM

Greetings All!

It seems like so long since I've last really talked with you guys that I won't be surprised if you think I'm something back from the crypt. Here's an update since my last silence...

|||||||Royal Military College...

Talk about a crazy few life-changing months. Since last August, I've signed up for the Canadian Armed Forces and I've been having an absolute blast at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC for future reference). I've found the military life-style somewhat demanding, but also very rewarding. Granted, being far from home and loved ones is hard (considering my hometown is on the other bloody side of the country), but I figure that if I sacrifice a bit now, it'll be far better off down the road.

On that note, I'd like to introduce my extended family, Hunter Flight (12 Squadron):

Over my stay at RMC, we had an indoctrination period known as First Year Orientation Period; also known as FYOP, or simply 'Hell'. As a result, I share a friendship with these people that I could never have gotten anywhere else over such a short amount of time. Our staff were fantastic (Mr. Gosselin is one of my personal heroes now), and overall I had a ton of fun despite the times where I wondered what the hell I was doing there.

As many of us say: FYOP was a good experience... but I never want to do it again.

I will most likely post more pictures of FYOP and the Obstacle Course. The above picture was taken after we had just finished the Obstacle Course and were thus officially RMC students; hence why we are all dirty, tired, cold, wet, and full of adrenaline. If you're curious about some things that happened over FYOP, feel free to ask, though it's hard to explain to people who have never been there/have not experienced it. (By the way, if you live in Canada and want to be an Officer, go sign up to RMC. You'll never regret it)

|||||||But then what's with the Québec thermometer if you're in Kingston?
Good question.

Due to some circumstances, I've been transferred over to the Collège Militaire Royal du Canada (CMR) for a semester, and then for our basic officer training this summer. RMC, CMR and Royal Roads (in British Columbia... the one I would have liked to go to) were all apart of the same school. However, CMR and Royal Roads shut down a couple years ago, and only recently did CMR re-open.

I've never been this far East before, and considering I'm a B.C girl, it's somewhat strange being in an almost all French environment. Needless to say, I think my French will greatly improve here. I'll be back at RMC (Kingston, Ontario) this coming Fall though.

|||||||Subscription, CSS...

I finally decided that I'd buy myself a 12 month subscription (yay!). However, I am considerably illiterate when it comes to CSS coding. HTML I can do, but CSS makes my brain hurt. So! If there is someone out there who knows CSS, I'd be interested in doing a trade of sorts (whether it's money or a drawing as payment for the CSS is up to the one writing it!) Contact me if you're interested.

|||||||Adoptables!

Wow, talk about jumping on the bandwagon eh? But hey, I'd really appreciate it if you clicked on (and thus feed) these little guys.

|||||||New Art?!
Damn right! I finally have some time to doodle now, and I've a little masterpiece hiding up my sleeve. It's in it's very rough stages (OC doodle). I have yet to transfer it to CS2 to get a higher dpi, but due to a misplaced CD I have to wait until it gets mailed out to me so I can install the friggin' program.

I have every intention of putting this image up for print once it's done, so I'm going to spend extra time on it. Stay Tuned!

|||||||Commissions...
Interested in a Commission?

I admire your patience ~Tex777, and I thank you ever so much for it. Although I said I'd have time over Christmas to work on it, there was less time than I thought. But never fear! I have only 20 hours of class a week now, so I have more than enough time to finish your lovely commission. My only problem now, however is that I don't own a scanner... or a camera, and I'm not entirely sure how to get around this in regards to your critiques on pose and accuracy etc...

Any ideas?

|||||||Closing Remarks...
Well, I think that's about it, even though there is so much that is left unsaid in regards to RMC. However, to write all of my adventures down in a single journal would result in nothing less than a novel, and I'd rather not overload my readers and make their cerebral container explode.

Cheers,
Officer Cadet 3019
